Inspired by, and painted in the style of Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh.

I’ve always related to Van Gogh on a personal level. I wonder if he were alive in current day, if he (and his art style) would be more widely accepted? If modern medicine could have helped to tame the inner beast inside?

Painted in June 1889, Starry Night depicts the view from the east-facing window of his asylum room at Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Painted just before sunrise, this was his view through the bars of his bedroom window. Vincent checked himself into the institute after a mental break during which he cut off his own ear.

Van Gogh referred to this piece as a ‘failure’ in a letter to his brother, Theo . It is widely regarded as Van Gogh’s magnum opus and is one of the most recognized paintings in Western art.
