Charged By The Sea

This image was another that was inspired by my kid, Alex, only this time it was his Instagram account that caught my attention. While on a hike of Signal Hill he captured a quick snap of the city of st john’s from the end of the Outer Battery trail.See his picture in the gallery (extra photos)

His picture intrigued me…It wasn’t so much the view of the city that caught my attention. It was the side angle view of the battery, looking in…I knew as soon as I saw it that I would eventually pain my own version of this view. (see the alternate pics to see a low res copy of Alex’s picture)

The Battery is a neighbourhood within the city of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador that sits on the entrance to the harbour, on the slopes of Signal Hill. It is sometimes described as an outport within the city of St. John’s and is noted for its steep slopes, and colourful houses.
