A native of Spaniard’s Bay who has transformed her passion and love for her home province into a tribute for the places and people she has encountered over the years. Bobbi has poured her memories and experiences onto canvas in her own version of `The Rock`. She invites us into coves, communities and cities, as we see the Province and people of Newfoundland, through her eyes.
In all of my paintings, you will find 3 crows, most are easy to find, but others you’ll have to search a little to find them. The reason? Nicknames were developed in outport Newfoundland, so families could be differentiated from others with the same last name. (Mercers- Foxes, Nishes, etc) For my Maiden name Seymour, the Nickname was Crow. Rumour has it the first Spaniard’s Bay Constable was a Seymour. He was often spotted patrolling the lanes and drungs wearing a long black cape to protect him from the chilly nights. He became the first ‘Crow’, because of how he looked when out on patrol. My three crows represent many things to me; myself and my two brothers growing up, they represent my inner core of three at home now, but the main reason takes me back to an old poem;
One for sorrow, Two for joy, Three for a girl, Four for a boy ,Five for silver, Six for gold, Seven for a secret never to be told.
Three crows signifies a girl…a girl crow, thats ME!! Can you find all the crows?
Thank you for stopping by my website, I hope you enjoy what you find within. Check back often, I have lots left to share with you.

Hey Cousin! I just ordered Rocky Isle. I can’t wait to see it in person. It will be great to have a little view of home here in my dining room in Fort McMurray. Congratulations on all your success, your art is beautiful. Say hi to Jamie, Martin, Jeff, Lester, Samantha, Adam, Aunt Daphne and Uncle Gordon for me!
Bobbi, I am so amazed by you paintings. Who would have thought that all those years ago back in 1996 or so, sitting around drinking watching the dog bark. That the brown haired, laughing, happy person that thought me to make Toutons, showed us your part of the island and shared your family with us Come From Aways would be such a successful painter. I am still amazed that you said the tole painting I showed you way back then was a beginning. I never did more than slapped paint on a couple old milk cans, and look at you. But hey, I make a mean Touton! Ha ha.
I love what you do with the brush and your visions. The pic of Spainard’s Bay looks just like the first view I had of there when you took Robert and I out to meet your parent’ s.
I know a famous painter and one day I will buy one if her pics. But you gave to promise to put something in it for Robert and I. A pic that reminds me of the Newfoundland I lived on for 4 years and met some wonderful people.
Keep up the great work. Lova ya and miss ya.
Pam, You tell me what you want painted and we’ll make it happen!! You honour me, my friend…
I miss you too, my friend!!
